Craft rock is a plaster impregnated bandage, an ideal material for making masks, moulds, forming contours for model railways. To use, crumple up damp newspaper and shape to the rough contour of your design on the base board.Estimate the amount of material you will require, allowing for two or three layers in thickness.Dip a piece of Craft-Rock in a bowl of water for 4-5 seconds and shake off the surplus water.Build up the area to be covered with 3 or 4 layers, slightly overlap the pieces. It is important to finish working on one area of the base board before starting on a new area, as the first piece applied will be unworkable after four minutes.Allow to dry for 24 hours before painting with enamel, oil based, water or poster paints.
